Our Church
GracePoint Church began in 2018 on Easter Sunday. What started as a dream and an opportunity by First Baptist Church of Alpharetta, GracePoint was strategically planted just inside southeast Cherokee county in the pathway of rapid new growth from Alpharetta, Milton, Hickory Flat, and Canton. In only a few short years, GracePoint has become a healthy, growing, independent church.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to love God, love people, and share the reason why, as we make disciples of Jesus Christ. Really, our church purpose to love God and people comes from Jesus who gave us the Great Commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). It was also Jesus who gave us the Great Commission to share the good news of salvation with others and to make disciples as we go (Matthew 28:19-20).
Our Process
Life is an on-going process of growth, through successes and failures, good times and bad. We can either go about this process alone or we can connect with God and others in the church for friendship, support, and wisdom. The truth is, doing life alone is lonely and difficult because we weren’t created to be alone. Life is more joyful, meaningful, and fulfilling when we make a decision to grow with God.
We have a four-fold process to help us grow to be the persons God created us to be. We want to Connect (with God through his Son Jesus Christ and with others in the church), to Grow (to mature spiritually and in character), to Serve (pouring out to others the grace and goodness God is pouring into us), and to Share (telling the story of how God is transforming our life and has the power to transform others).
The ultimate goal in this process comes from Romans 8:29, which tells us that from the very beginning God purposed us to become like his Son Jesus. We can’t become more like Jesus on our own. Only through God’s Spirit and allowing God to use others in our lives can we become who God has created us to be.
Begin (Again) with Us
Everyone makes poor decisions, experiences unexpected life events, and goes through difficult times. In other words, we know what it means to be human, to suffer, to experience consequences and circumstances we can’t control. That’s why, by God’s grace, we’re a church of second-chances. Odds are that someone in our church, if not many, have been where you’ve been, have walked a mile in your shoes, and have the scars and stories to prove it. Our lives aren’t perfect. We still experience the ups and downs of life. But we can share with you how God can give you the power to live, to find meaning and joy, to share grief, and to experience healing every day just like does for us. We invite you to begin (again) with us.
