Five Point focus
Committed to Focus
Connect
The primary purpose for all peoples is to connect with God through Jesus Christ and with other believers through the local church. We believe Jesus made this clear when he said that the two greatest commandments are to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:30-31). Helping people connect with God through a personal relationship with Jesus and with other believers at GracePoint Church is our first focus.
Becoming more like Christ is the true marker of discipleship, spiritual growth, and maturity. Spiritual growth is more than consistent church attendance or memorizing Bible verses. Growth is marked by character development in all areas of life. God wants to transform and renew us from the inside out. Our second focus is to “have the mind of Christ” in all things (1 Corinthians 2:16). True spiritual growth only happens in the power and presence of God’s Holy Spirit.
Grow
Serve
The Bible says that we are to “be doers of the Word, not only hearers” (James 1:22) and “whatever you do, do all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). God desires that we serve Him through serving others. We believe that every member of GracePoint Church is a minister (1 Peter 2:5), and ministry means compassionately caring for others by serving them in the way Jesus did. Our third focus is to grow ministers who intentionally engage in ministry−doing the Word of God for the glory of God out of love for God and our neighbors.
Part of connecting, growing, and serving is sharing Jesus with others, no matter where you go or what you do. Sharing is an integral part of spiritual growth and living a life in focus. The Bible says that we should share the reason for our hope (1 Peter 3:15). Inviting others to a personal relationship with Jesus brings us joy (1 John 1:5) and is a direct response in obedience to Jesus’ last commandment to his followers (Matthew 28:19-21). Sharing the gospel is always done through love and compassion, with gentleness and respect. The fourth focus of GracePoint Church is to encourage members to share their hope in Jesus and to equip them to do so effectively.
Share
Honor
The ultimate focus of GracePoint Church is to build lives devoted to God in all things at all times. Living a life of worship is more than singing and church attendance. A life which honors God is a life being transformed by God’s Spirit through daily devotional living (Romans 12:1-2). It is a life measured by an intentional commitment to focus on connecting, growing, serving, and sharing. Only through Jesus Christ can we experience the freedom and love God has designed for those who honor Him (Acts 4:12; Galatians 5:1).
